Music Meets Science
The Friends of MDC cordially invite you all to our event ‘Music Meets Science’
The musical part of the event will be performed by young pianists Tabea and Daniel Streicher, together with pianist Prof. Galina Iwanzow-Bielka, with a sophisticated and multifaceted programme. The internationally acclaimed sibling duo will present works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Maurice Ravel and Béla Bartók – a concert of the highest artistic calibre that impressively combines virtuosity, depth and musical dialogue.
The concert is dedicated to Prof. Dr. Erhard Geißler, who celebrated his 95th birthday in December 2025. With this tribute, we also intend to honour the numerous distinguished scientists of the Bucher Academy Institutes of the GDR, on whose scientific foundation the Max Delbrück Centre was founded in 1992 after reunification.
In a panel discussion moderated by Prof. Detlev Ganten, founding director of the MDC, with the guest of honour and other colleagues, we would like to vividly recall the scientific work of Prof. Geißler and his colleagues at the Bucher Institutes.
Admission is free, and donations will go towards the work of the Bucher citizens’ association and the Friends of MDC.
We look forward to welcoming you to the events.
Location:Campus Buch, MDC.C, Axon
