125. Geburtstag von Timofeeff-Ressovsky: Konzert und Vortrag
Pianist Prof. Wolfram Rieger and violinist Prof. Yamei Yu will be our guests for the musical program. They will perform Ludwig van Beethoven's Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 7 in C minor, Op. 30 No. 2, Maurice Ravel's Sonata for Violin and Piano, and César Franck's Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major.
The scientific part of the event will be dedicated to commemorating the geneticist Nikolai Vladimirovich Timoféeff-Ressovsky, whose 125th birthday will be celebrated on September 19. Timoféeff-Ressovsky, who himself conducted research at the former Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Brain Research in Berlin-Buch for 20 years, made a significant contribution to modern medical research. Dr. Robert P. Zinzen, group leader at the MDC, molecular geneticist, and long-time admirer of Timoféeff-Ressovsky, will share interesting insights on “Timoféeff-Ressovsky as a pioneer of modern biology and scientific excellence under totalitarian regimes.”
Admission is free, we ask for donations in favour of the MDC Friends and for the restoration of Kirchturm Buch.
Looking forward to see you. Organisator & Sponsor: Freundeskreis des Max Delbrück Center
