BIO International Convention in Philadelphia
2019-06-05 / The German Capital Region is represented at the BIO International Convention 2019 in Philadelphia from 3 - 6 June. Exhibitors and representatives of the healthcare industries cluster HealthCapital will provide information in the German Pavilion about products and strengths of the life sciences region. Among the exhibitors is the Campus Berlin-Buch GmbH, which develops and operates the health and science location Berlin-Buch with one of the largest biotech parks in Germany.
Berlin-Brandenburg is one of the leading locations for life sciences in Europe. The Berlin biotech sector in particular has registered steady growth and high start-up dynamism. 80% of the more than 230 biotech companies work in biomedicine. They develop innovative therapeutics and diagnostics to treat cancer, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. Benefit from the strong local research landscape, the close links between science and industry and from the excellent infrastructure for clinical trials with more than 130 clinics, including Europe's largest university hospital – the Charité.
